Lez Run: Lez Run was created for all members of the LGBTQ community, their friends and family. Our group welcomes all skill levels from beginner to pro! We meet 2x per week, Wednesdays and Sundays, rain or shine, but within reason :). Wednesdays we meet in the city at 2300 Market St at 6:15pm and will do up to 4 miles in distance. Sunday runs will vary in location and distance. Please check our posts for more info. We aim to run local, out of state and out of the country races to represent our community and show off our skills! We will train together for upcoming races and help each other reach personal goals. Besides running, we also like to socialize and will meet for happy hours, pasta dinners, and after run brunches. Please keep in mind we are not a dating site, but runners are hot so we understand if it happens. Our focus is to provide lgbtq athletes (newbies and vets) a safe, supportive, and healthy outlet via running. FInally, a place where you can freely talk about losing a toenail, chafing cream, carbo loading, cold weather running, Garmin watches, and that strange feeling you get when you miss a run. So grab your running sneaks but leave your inhibitions at home and join us because running just got gayer!
Philadelphia Front Runners: Philadelphia Front Runners is a running club serving the LGBT+ community and our allies in the greater Philadelphia area since 1983. As a chapter of the international organization of Front Runners, our name stems from the 1974 novel “The Front Runner”, a depiction of queer life within the running community. We aim to cultivate an inclusive & safe space while fostering the passion for running that we all share – essentially, our mission is to be gay (in both the “queer” and “happy” sense) and run. We meet every Monday night at 7:00pm at the William Way Center and every Saturday morning at 9:30am at Lloyd Hall, and welcome runners (and walkers!) of all paces. Whether you’re training for a marathon PR and can’t stand another 20 mile run alone, wanting to look toned in that fabulous dress you plan on wearing at your next drag show, or even just feeling a little run-curious, we’d love for you to come out and run with us!
